Coperion is looking for a Fabricator-Laser Operator to join our team in Salina, KS. As a Fabricator-Laser Operator you will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of equipment and processes for manufacturing of products and operating a laser work center safely and efficiently.

What you’ll do:
- Provide programming for Laser CNC equipment, in conjunction with routing for new products.
- Schedule laser work to coincide with production timelines.
- Pull, organize, and sort sheet metal to be efficiently processed on the laser.
- Match laser cut parts to work orders and send to the next production location.
- Support shops with programming needs and problem-solving assistance.
- Lead efforts in continuous improvement in manufacturing methods.
- Write-up and maintain shop routings for standard parts.
- Other duties may be assigned
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of technical training or equivalent experience. Knowledge in tool design and 3D modeling preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience working with a laser cutting machine.
- The ability to read blueprints
- The ability to read and write English
- Good verbal communications skills in person as well as by telephone.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good analytical skills necessary to evaluate and organize workloads and schedules.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
- Good coordinating, organizing, and scheduling skills.
- Knowledge of the use of computers and other standard office equipment.
- Familiar with the most common material handling equipment; forklift, overhead hoist, jib crane.
- Mechanical ability to use hand and powered tools and have knowledge in the use of scales, calipers, and gauges to test and check mechanically and for appearance quality.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
- Ability to perform and interpret computer and RF functions
- Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace
- Forklift experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
