Passionate Paws Animal Hospital, a privately owned Fear Free Certified integrative practice, is looking for an energetic, caring, and skilled individual to join our medical team as a veterinary assistant or licensed technician. When pet parents of Passionate Paws Animal Hospital bring their fur-babies in for medical care, they want to know our assistants/technicians understand how important their pets are to them and that their pets will receive the highest quality of medical care. In fact, we are so focused on providing the best medical care and not being a high volume practice that all of our new pet parent appointments are 1 hour long!

The ideal candidate is a friendly, confident self-starter that enjoys being part of a supportive and caring, united team. You would be at the center of activity helping our skilled veterinarians with multiple procedures: assist with physical examinations, obtain laboratory samples, assist with complementary treatments such as acupuncture and cold-laser therapy, dentals, surgeries, immunizations, euthanasia, radiology and client education. Ultimately, the Veterinary Assistant/Technician is the brand ambassador of the unique, high quality, fear free, integrative experience Passionate Paws delivers to fur babies and their pet parents.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience and technical knowledge in aspects of veterinary assisting including medical exams, nursing, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. Experience with complementary treatments, anesthesia, dental and surgery is a plus.

• Experience/knowledge of acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, platelet rich plasma, cold laser, and/or herbs preferred, not required

• Certified, licensed, or registered technician credentials preferred, not required

• Certified in veterinary assistant preferred, not required

• Demonstrates a knowledge of veterinary medications, products, and diagnostic equipment

• Demonstrates excellent communication skills (able to listen, accept feedback, and resolve concerns in a timely manner)

• Certified Fear Free professional, preferred but not required. (As a Fear Free Certified practice, certification is included within the first 90 days of employment.)

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
