Overview

The Ranch, Larimer County's Fairgrounds and Event Center, is seeking a hard-working individual to join our team as a Events Operations Worker I!

Events Operations Workers perform building support services work involving the care, maintenance, and cleaning of event equipment, facilities, buildings, and grounds at the Ranch Events Complex so the public can continue to enjoy all of the events at our site.

The Ranch Events Complex has earned a reputation as one of the premier event and entertainment complexes in the region. The Ranch campus also includes the Budweiser Events Center, a 7,200 seat multi-purpose venue that is host to a variety of family shows, rodeos, comedy events, concerts, and the Colorado Eagles. Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Supervises part-time employees and volunteers.
  • Ensures that all event set ups and tear downs are completed per instructions given by event coordinators and promoters.
  • Repairs, maintains, and assists in fabricating and constructing event equipment.
  • Operates, maintains, adjusts, and repairs a wide variety of equipment.
  • Understands calculations of event expenses and tracking of expenses, and is capable of tracking those expenses and communicating them with event coordinators via written logs, email, or verbal communication.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Have experience with event setup and tear down.
  • Work well independently or in a group.
  • Operate a wide variety of equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Use safe work practices.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • One (1) year of experience in a directly related field, or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
  • High School diploma or GED required, supplemented by specialized courses in building construction and maintenance required.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment required.

Supplemental Information

The typical schedule for this position can vary based on event schedules. This position will work a schedule that may include weekends, nights, and holidays and in varying weather conditions.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.

A successful candidate must be able to complete physical testing based on the Essential Job Functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
