The Opportunity

We are looking for an Estimator to join our team! You will oversee budgeting, developing cost estimates, development of construction schedules, and presenting the results in a work breakdown format suitable for use by the Client, Project Manager, and project team. Our ideal candidate should have extensive residential construction experience and 5 years of estimating experience. Please be prepared to provide examples of your work. We will provide specific training tailored to company needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise and present detailed estimates for residential and commercial construction projects from plans and existing conditions.
• Visit job sites as required.
• Work with the homeowner to build a scope of work if one does not exist yet.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors & subcontractors.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors & vendors.
• Manage bids from subcontractors.
• Prepare material & labor estimates for upcoming projects on time.
• Prepare detailed cost analysis.
• Present highly detailed estimates to clients in a clear, understandable manner.
• Compile and record actual costs for use by the site supervisors and project manager.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to read & interpret plans & detailed schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• 5+ years experience in estimating residential and commercial construction.
