At CPM, we’re fortunate enough to have a team of folks, dedicated to raising funds from our generous community in their estate plans. This role will work with the Estate Gift Planning Director and an administrative support staff. In this role, you’ll have a chance to build on a strong foundation of support, be creative in how we connect with current and prospective donors and contribute to building a strong financial foundation for Cascade Public Media while demonstrating CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.

Salary: $76,200-$86,000

Seattle, hybrid schedule requires days onsite each week and other days remote

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • In partnership with the Estate Gift Planning Director, identify, research, cultivate, and solicit qualified prospects for planned gifts and potential major gifts to meet both short-term and long-term fundraising objectives for the station
  • Research and maintain individual donor profiles on qualified prospects and donors and define a strategic action plan for each prospect based on data available and supervise its use in solicitation of legacy gifts and intentions
  • Support the Estate Gift Planning Director in developing and executing strategic goals and marketing plan for Estate Gift Planning Program
  • Meet with prospects and current Legacy Circle members, one-on-one and in groups, locally and regionally
  • Cultivate estate planning professionals and advisors regarding gift opportunities for their clients; and provide full information and materials for their use and distribution
  • Support the Estate Gift Planning Director with stewardship and recognition program, including annual Legacy Circle Luncheon
  • Establish and maintain records systems of established contracts
  • Track “matured” gifts annually in order to make projections on expectancies
  • Stay current with trends in philanthropy and technical details on all forms of planned gifts and tax law changes
  • Maintain confidential database and paper files and chronological histories on planned giving prospects and donors
  • Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Thorough working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and donor database required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Three years’ planned giving or major gift experience required
  • Demonstrated successful experience and effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building and solicitation required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel regionally and to Canada as needed
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to type on a keyboard for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable means of transportation to meet requirements of the job
