(Entry Level) Accounts Payable Associate
Job description
Job Title: Associate I, Accounts Payable
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To be responsible for handling all accounts payable related functions and processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
List of essential duties in order of importance and the interval in which the duty is performed (daily, monthly, annually, etc.).
- Process outgoing payments, files related, general expenses and foreign agents.
- Process credit card requests
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verify, classifying and
recording accounts payable data.
- Post Paycargo payments, E-Freight, ACH/Wires, PierPass, Port Check and Fish & Wildlife payments
- Reconcile Open AP to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly recorded
- Verify and investigate discrepancies
- Miscellaneous tasks and provide backup support with department
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Experience: One (1) year of Accounts Payable experience, general accounting knowledge
- Skill Sets: Well organized, strong work ethics, good communication skills, high level of accuracy and detailed oriented, deadline oriented, multi-taking
- Language Skills: Strong written and spoken English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Certificate of post secondary education, such as associate degree (AA), exclusively in accounting
- Skill Sets: Basic computer knowledge, strong data entry accuracy and speed, Microsoft Excel preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
