The Release Engineer II develops releases for Corporate Application Systems. Designs and develops builds, scripts, installation procedures, and systems including source code control and issue tracking. Works closely with a quality assurance team to ensure final version is up to organizational standards. Supports Enterprise Release Management objectives to plan and execute application releases with high accuracy.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Automate deployments by scripting application releases to run via command lines and build release tools from simple msi installations to complex multi-applications
• Ensures all security and compliance guidelines for application release candidates are meet; application releases moving to production environments have been successfully tested, have adequate business approval and application owner signoff to proceed
• Coordinates releases to production after non-business hours according to service level agreement guidelines serving as the primary contact. Assess the need for potential rollbacks during release implementation and obtain the necessary approvals to proceed.
• Assists in release management activities for improving current release practices, new processes and projects that drive value for the business.
• Cross train operations staff and production support staff in application release automation tools.
• Responsible to design and provide specifications for resources in Azure cloud or equivalent for multi-platform applications
• Contributes to the design, implementation, and deployment strategies including on premise and Cloud applications

Required:

• BS or equivalent and 5 work experience in computer sciences or related field, or equivalent combination 4 Years scripting experience with various program languages
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation server, Azure Resources, or equivalent
• Demonstrates sound technical skills with a strong working knowledge of scripting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in an Agile development framework.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Salesforce Release, Claims processing and Oracle process.
• Knowledge of MS Release Management for Visual Studio 2013 a plus.
• Advanced knowledge in GIT Source Control Branching model with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
• Experience in PowerShell, CSharp, Python languages or equivalent
• Support version control systems, pipelines, & build tools (such as GIT, TFVS, ADO)
