Systems Technology & Research, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Air Combat Electronics (ACE) Program Office, (PMA209) Functional Teams at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland.

Job Duties:

  • Provide engineering and technical support to systems in all phases of the life cycle for the application of interoperable and open avionics architectures/standards across NAE platforms.
  • Analyze issues relating to system sustainability and availability.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to assist with planning and execution of testing, validation/verification events for systems in all phases of the life cycle.
  • Provide engineering and logistical support for various common avionics events sponsored by the TYCOMS, OAGs, PPOs, SYSCOMS, and to Joint Services for in-service systems and capabilities.
  • Collect and compile logistics and engineering data for incorporation into data calls and perform associated analyses.
  • Provide Technical support to ensure inclusion of FMS requirements relating to managed avionics systems reliability, maintainability, supportability, and availability.
  • Support tracking software trouble reports for fielded systems.
  • Analyze Software Trouble Reports (STRs) and resulting technical impacts and review proposed and final fixes.
  • Respond to inquiries as necessary to address: (1) Maintenance Planning (2) Technical Data (3) Supply Support (4) Computer Resources (5) Facilities (6) Support and Test Equipment (7) Manpower and Personnel (8) Training and Training Systems, (9) Design Interface and (10) Configuration Management.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience is required with the Airborne Radio Communications (ARC-210) suite, including advanced modes of operation and radio reprogramming, have quick, SINCGARS, SATURN, ESIP, SATCOM, IW and TSV modes of operation.
  • Experience in providing technical assistance to foreign partners with installation, integration, optimal performance, life cycle engineering support and operation of an AN/ARC-210(V) radio system and its associated communications equipment is desired.
  • Experience in providing support to DELPHIC Project in cryptographic remediation efforts to comply with NSA crypto modernization program efforts is desired.
  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
