Engineering Manager
A successful company is looking for a qualified Engineering Manager for the following:
  • Works diligently to meet upper management expectations, reduce timelines, and has attention to detail.
  • Works independently managing multiple projects, assigning workloads and timelines of self and staff.
  • Capable of handling Quality inspections, documentation, and follow-up processes.
  • Creates large assemblies and modeling sheet metal parts, extrusions, and machined parts.
  • Creates drawings and checked drawings for these CAD models. familiar with GD&T practices and tolerance analysis.
  • Understands and oversees the revision process and creation of BOMs for drawings.
  • Directs projects from start thru completion including hands-on of prototype component assembly and testing.
  • Directs drawing changes to parts/assemblies based upon manufacturer feedback and general manufacturing experience.
  • Hands-on and can assist with a variety of projects and issues from the Operations team.
  • Practical application of codes within the design and improvement processes.
  • Create reports and spreadsheets for ongoing, upgrade, and new projects.
  • Create documents for RFP (Request for Proposals) including Drawings, Schematics, and technical support documents.
  • Responsible to perform, oversee and direct Quality inspections and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Balance and judgment are required when evaluating issues based on safety exposure, costs, timeline, and overall quality.
  • Manage office day-to-day activities and respond to daily interoffice questions and issues.
The position reports directly to the VP of Engineering and will require some travel locally (NYC, NJ), occasionally US (Chicago, LA, etc), and infrequently International (Europe).
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree Required, Master Degree a plus.
  • 5+ years experience required, Managing engineering team a plus.
  • Has work experience in all areas of engineering: mechanical, electrical, structural, and documentation control.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical fabrication, electrical systems/schematics, design, and testing.
  • Familiar with Creo/ProE, Windchill, and SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in MS office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) & Adobe Products
