Rantec is located in Los Osos, California is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary

Using independent thinking and judgment assist engineers in the design and development of power supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Fabricate and test breadboards and prototype units
• Perform basic AC and DC analysis of circuit design
• Review circuit board layouts for best routing and lowest noise interaction
• Measure loop stability using network analyzers
• Measure thermal and EMI performance
• Maintain documentation of tests performed and unit configuration
• Perform specification compliance testing of unit
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School diploma plus AS degree in electronics technology.
• 5 years in an electrical/electronic engineering environment with experience in analog circuitry and knowledge of Ohm’s Law.
• Thorough understanding of safety issues with regard to working with electrical current and high voltages.
• Knowledge of oscilloscopes, DVM, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
• Knowledge of switch mode power supplies, feedback loop theory, and basic AC and DC analysis.

Salary Range: $26.67 - $34.67 Hourly
