Ardurra is seeking an experienced transportation or roadway Engineer (EIT) to join our staff in Tallahassee, FL

Primary Function:

Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer in support of transportation design projects.

Primary Duties:

  • Engineer solutions to clients’ infrastructure challenges
  • Prepare Construction Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for a variety of projects
  • Work in a team environment on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects using state, county, city or AASHTO standards for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layout, interchange layout, roadway drainage, right of way plans, traffic design, and utility coordination
  • Produce portions of the following plans: Roadway Sections, Roadway Plan and Profiles, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans, Water/Wastewater Plans, Signal Plans, Sign and Pavement Marking Plans, Traffic Control Plans, Erosion Control, and Construction Estimates
  • Provide training, mentoring, and oversight of interns and entry level EITs
  • Support Office Leader in marketing and business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and presentations
  • Support Office Leader in contract negotiations, including staff hour estimations
  • Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and subconsultants
  • Support Project Manager in role of Deputy Project Manager where appropriate, including: scheduling, preparing subconsultant agreements, review/approval of subconsultant work products and invoices, prepare progress reports and invoices
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT Certificate
  • 3+ years of experience in the civil engineering field
  • Proficient with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to research and utilize available resources
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization skills, and work ethic
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented individual with the ability to work on challenging projects in a team environment
