As an engineer at Minnesota Power your work will have an impact on climate, customers and communities. You can expect to work on diverse and challenging grid modernization projects to support Minnesota Power's clean energy goals with many opportunities to grow and develop professionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for project planning, development, implementation, and modification; contributes to engineering standards development, balancing corporate and customer needs
  • Research new technology for potential corporate application.
  • Design and develop project work for northern operations department.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited university in engineering
    • Candidates completing their degree by June 30, 2023 will be considered.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Job classification is dependent upon the level of job related experience
A Master's degree in engineering may be equivalent for up to one year of related experience

Engineer I: No experience required

Engineer II: Four years or more job related experience -OR- Two years or more job related experience PLUS Engineer in Training Certificate

Engineer III: Four years or more job related experience PLUS must possess a Professional Engineer License

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as travel is expected with this role
  • This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN.
  • Utility engineering experience is preferred
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
