Position Purpose

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “Doing the Right Thing” by leading the Credit Union's engagement and inclusion initiatives, with the goal to promote the Credit Union's culture and sustain an engaged, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster employee engagement and inclusion.
  • Keeps the Credit Union's engagement software up-to-date with current employee information, as well as conducts surveys and provides reports of survey results to supervisors and management.
  • Works one-on-one with new and struggling supervisors to help them understand, reinforce and promote the Credit Union's culture and inclusion initiatives.
  • Embraces changes going on all around the Credit Union and helps supervisors work with struggling employees, as it involves the Credit Union's culture.
  • Assists the Organizational Culture Supervisor in the planning and execution of various educational meetings within the Credit Union.
  • Collaborates with the Organizational Culture Supervisor on creating resources that support the Credit Union's engagement and inclusion initiatives, including videos, educational meetings, engagement events, internal newsletter, etc.
  • Recognizes the need for additional professional development training and works to create and execute this training.
  • Coordinates, implements and leads the Credit Union's DEI initiatives, such as, but not limited to, the DEI Advisory (JEDI) Council and the Network Resource Groups (NRGs).
  • Reviews existing policies and procedures to assist with the development and implementation of engagement, inclusion, and diversity goals, strategies, and statements.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of engagement and inclusion related issues, legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Networks with other Engagement, Inclusion, and/or DEI professionals and shares best practices with management.

Necessary Experience and Qualifications

  • Ability to read, develop, and comprehend specific and sometimes technical instructions, short and detailed correspondence, and memos; the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as normally acquired through completion of a high school education.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and basic office machines, as normally acquired through a basic course or one to three months of on-the-job experience. Must be able to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as normally acquired through a basic course or six months to one year of on-the-job experience. Video creation and editing is preferred, but is not required.
  • Requires a knowledge of credit union products, services, and current culture, normally acquired through one year or more on-the-job experience. Requires the ability to conceptualize and implement new projects in a changing environment.
  • Requires the analytical ability to research technical situations and provide common-sense answers to employees. Must be able to translate technical information for a non-technical audience.
  • Must have the ability to facilitate and speak in large group settings.
  • Requires a strong initiative; has the ability to accomplish goals with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of employees, members, and potential members. Sets the example by maintaining a professional, but fun, demeanor and atmosphere. Requires very strong oral and written communication, listening and public speaking skills. Demonstrates good motivational and delegation skills.
  • Demonstrates consistent leadership traits and supports overall business objectives.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to help coordinate and prioritize multiple job duties.
  • Must be self-directed and be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license. Travel required to various branches, meetings, seminars or conferences.

  • Office environment with moderate level of noise
  • Prolonged sitting or standing
  • Frequent mental and visual concentration
  • Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, fax machine and other office machines
  • May require travel to other branch locations and/or for meetings, conferences, or seminars
  • Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds
