Description

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, a 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, serves the communities of Seminole and west Volusia counties. The hospital provides the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and west Volusia, including open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services. Other specialized services include orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, acute inpatient medical rehabilitation and complete imaging services. Lake Monroe Hospital is located 3.6 miles east of I-4 between S.R. 46 and Highway 17-92 in Sanford. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care at its main location as well as at Heathrow ER located at 4525 International Parkway in Sanford.

Position Summary:

• Provides care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and serves as a lead for other Endoscopy Technicians.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, equipment, and supplies needed for various procedure
• Assists with endoscopic procedures by performing transporter duties, obtains supplies, equipment, and instrumentation as needed. Assists physicians and RN as needed during endoscopic procedures
• Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients' right to privacy by protecting confidential information
• Participates in call schedule and reports for duty within 30 minutes of notification.
• In coordination with other team members, responsible for routine inspection, equipment maintenance, and replacement of instrumentation. Process instrumentation according to High Level Disinfection policies.
• Promotes and displays a positive customer oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
• Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.
