POSITION: EMT Basic (IFT), Full-Time (FT & PT basic spots may be available upon graduation)

LOCATION: San Leandro, CA (Serving Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara Counties)

Develop the skills necessary for an accelerated transition into our Northern California East Bay IFT Division by attending our Earn While You Learn Program which will prepare you to work aboard BLS, CCT Paramedic, and CCT Nurse units!

WHAT SETS US APART?

Located in the sought-after San Francisco Bay area, AMR San Leandro provides unparalleled and fast-paced service to Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara Counties. Unlike in most other BLS roles, our EMTs run high volumes of Interfacility Transfer calls and have opportunities to work special standby events, assist Critical Care Paramedics and Registered Nurses, provide back-up 911 services during surge volumes and even respond to disasters as part of our local and national Disaster Response Teams. Incumbents will receive comprehensive and unrivaled training that prepares them for a successful future in EMS.

Immunization Requirements
You must obtain the listed immunizations or have current written records of immunizations and submit verification (readable copies) for each of the applicable immunizations to our office no later than the start of the class. Include the name of the facility and practitioner, official seal, stamp or log of the facility/practitioner and date of the immunizations.

Please be sure to make copies of your immunization records. Originals will not be returned

• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer Only - within the last 5 years
• Hepatitis B - positive titer Only - within the last 5 years
• Chicken pox (Varicella) - positive titer Only - within the last 5 years
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDAP) - proof of immunization - within the last 5 years
• Meningitis vaccination - proof of immunization - within the last 5 years
• TB/PPD - negative TB/PPD skin test within the last 3 months
• Influenza vaccination - * Only needed if course falls between November-April

Qualifications for Class:

Education:

Must be at least 18 years old with High School diploma or GED.

Skills:

Functional literacy (oral and written) in English

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Credentials/Licenses:

Current Valid State Driver's License

As a student attending an EMT class, the following certifications below will apply to you upon successful completion of the EMT class.

Qualifications for EMT position :

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State Driver's Licens e
• State EMT License
• Ambulance Drivers License
• Medical Examiners Card

• CPR/American Heart Association BLS Card (preferred)
• Driving record in compliance with company polic y
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare

Salary Range: Training pay $17.25. (This rate applies to a 8 hour shift and average 40)
