All about the role:

In this role you will be reporting to the Plant Manager for Electrolux Major Appliances NA. You will be based in Kinston, NC. The EMS (Lean manufacturing) Leader is responsible for engaging the plant senior leadership to actively drive and participate in messaging, focus and importance of lean activities. This role coordinates all plantwide lean manufacturing activities.

What you’ll do:

  • This role is responsible for lean implementation and coordination of lean efforts to achieve plant and corporate EMS goals and initiatives, identification of manufacturing concerns, initiating solutions, tracking plant EMS objectives to corporate plan
  • The ambition is to enable all people in the factory to do their job in the best possible way under optimum conditions, supporting them in the identification and elimination of waste and safety hazards as well as in the increasing of productivity
  • The (EMS) Leader is responsible for the deployment of key EMS initiatives and supporting Lean Manufacturing within their plant in coordination with their assigned Regional Lean Leader
  • This person is responsible to define and drive culture change
  • The EMS (Lean) Leader is responsible to drive objective goal setting and attainment of these and corporate goals
  • Responsible for applying all requirements related to EMS, ISO9001/14001/50001/Green Spirit according to the position
  • The activities to be carried out include following energy management system information, indicated but not limited to: Knowledge and understanding of the energy policy of the plant, which must follow and promote, as well as knowledge and identification of the Significant Energy Uses (SEUs) and its operational controls, maintenance, objectives, actions plans and energy indicators performance.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Quality, Engineering or other related field
  • 5 years minimum experience leading lean implementation and cultural change in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years experience in Lean, Lean sigma or similar (5S, Waste Elimination, Visual Management, Standardized Work, Teaming, Problem Solving, Setup Improvement, TPM, Jidoka, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
  • 3+ years experience in Lean material flow (Inbound Logistics, Plan for Every Part, Kanban, Supermarkets, hiejunka, mixed model flow, Single Piece Flow, etc.)
