This Employment Trainer position earns a competitive starting wage of $15/hour that can increase quickly with raises for completing notes and training. Employment Trainers provide direct support to participants in community worksite and employment settings, facilitating and providing functional training in accordance with individual employment goals. As an Employment Trainer, you will be responsible for assisting participants in building natural supports and becoming integrated into work environments. Activities include providing transportation for participants when necessary, encouraging and assisting in the development of knowledge in utilizing other forms of transportation, and providing assistance with participants who use wheelchairs. Hours per week vary from 5 to 20 hours.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Basic knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people with disabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency using software packages including Windows Office
- Access to non-public transportation including required insurance coverage
- Capable of working a flexible schedule (i.e., split shifts, weekends, holidays)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with people with disabilities
