Our Hartsville Converting Operation has an opening for an experienced Electro-Mechanic with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or military. While reporting to the Plant Engineer, the ElectroMechanic is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment and minimize downtime. This individual will use their training and knowledge to perform equipment/process/system maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, make repairs and identify opportunities for improvement. The successful candidate must have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Understands and follows safety policies and procedures. Performs all tasks safely and does not take risks. Additionally, identifies safety risks and works to reduce them.
  • Must be able to pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilize safe work practices and PPE
  • Supplies and maintains their own tools.
  • Documents and performs preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to eliminate equipment breakdowns and failures.
  • Creates, and document work completed using C-works.
  • Communicates effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal/degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, tests, repairs and maintains equipment and machinery used in the Hartsville Converting Operation for the manufacturing of tubes, cores and related products.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic functions
  • Must have exceptional skills in the areas of electricity, electric components, variable-speed drives, and PLC’s.
  • Installs/troubleshoots/repairs AC and DC drives/motors
  • Rebuilds various parts/equipment
  • Experience in machine shop equipment such as lathes, drills, milling machines and welding is also a plus.

Candidate must successfully complete the required WorkKeys or WIN assessments as well as the Mechanical and Electrical Minimizers.
This position requires the ability to work with limited direction from supervision as well as good oral and written communication and computer skills. Must have, or be able to qualify for a fork truck license. Primarily 1st shift, but must be willing to work 2nd shift every 4th week. Candidate must be also be willing to work overtime including weekends.

  • You have experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls preferred
  • Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks

Base Rate: $27.07- $34.92/hr. based on experience + potential monthly bonus
