Systems Technology & Research, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Air Combat Electronics (ACE) Program Office, (PMA209) Functional Teams at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland.

Job Duties:

• Provide engineering and technical support to in-service, out-of-production systems for the application of interoperable and open avionics architectures/standards across NAE platforms.
• Provide technical support services to monitor and track the functional and operator/system interface requirements and specifications for in-service, out-of-production systems supported by the Functional team.
• Provide technical and logistical analysis for flight mission planning systems, control systems, and associated hardware and software systems, including data loaders.
• Perform engineering and technical analysis of Fleet maintenance data and cost drivers and make recommendations regarding approaches to reduce Operations and Sustainment (O&S) costs and improve readiness.
• Provide analysis and updates of maintenance plans and sustainment strategies related to avionics systems and support equipment as follows: (1) Analyze available Data Analytics products to provide recommendations to enhance life-cycle supportability, availability and maintainability. (2) Track Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD) and provide recommendations regarding approval of SERDs. (3) Study and categorize support equipment availability, selection, capability, and limitations to promote standardization of equipment, repair, and recoverability procedures.
• Provide sustaining engineering support to evaluate and resolve component obsolescence issues, high-cost drivers and system reliability degraders.

Qualifications/Experience:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with sustainment engineering related to avionics systems.
• Broad knowledge of avionics hardware and software systems is highly desired.
• Comprehensive understanding of electronics engineering analysis techniques, along with design engineering analysis processes and associated tools, including tools used to perform engineering-based sustainment analysis is desired.
• Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
