NTN USA Corporation has an immediate opening in our Engineering Department for an Electrical Engineer. This individual will follow company objectives and policies. Modify, design, troubleshoot, and repair PLC Based Electrical Control System, including Motion Control System. The role is also responsible for monitoring, modifying and writing PLC programs as well as Plan Layouts and Wire Electrical Control Panels/Install on Industrial Machinery. Knowledge of Mechanical Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems required.

The Electrical Engineer will improve and modify automated production machinery according to other department requirements. This role will design and implement automated production machinery and control systems (i.e. electrical schematic drawings, list of materials, panel layout, wiring and, testing). Ability to collaborate with vendors to design/ implement, install, start up, duplicate, and overhaul etc. automated production machinery.

Skills/Qualifications

• Supervise and train entry level Electrical Engineer/Technicians/Vendors.
• Interact and communicate effectively interdepartmentally
• Troubleshoot automated production machinery, conduct root cause analysis/troubleshoot/repair as needed.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic component of machine such a PLC and CNC modules, MMI’s, Drives, Motors, Relays, Switches, Position Sensing Devises, Printed Circuit Boards, etc.
• Connect electric power to machines and equipment and control wires between machines and equipment.
• Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Work with mechanics and lead persons to diagnose faulty machinery.

Competencies

• Design and implement automated production machinery and control systems
• Identify weak points of production process and troubleshoot methods of process improvement.
• Create SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for direct reports.
• Prepare and provide training for Entry Level Electrical Engineers/Technicians
• Stay informed of Technology Changes and Industry Best Practices to effectively enhance organizational performance, development and revenue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to create, read, and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals..
• Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and draw/interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, and schedule format.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing and Microsoft Software is Required.

Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working in a plant/manufacturing environment and standing for long periods of time. This role also requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling /crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 10lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Comfortable working amongst moving mechanical parts, fumes/airborne particles/toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to high precarious places and outside weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in “High Noise” work environment.
• Comfortable wearing safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe boots/shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
