• This is a hardware engineer position, focused on electrical or electronic component design and development. Candidate needs to have hands on experience with hardware and circuit troubleshooting. This is not an embedded software engineer position. The candidate will be responsible for worldwide design control of sensors and sensing components. These components are primarily purchased finished. The candidate will manage development of new products utilizing established processes for specification, sourcing, design & process verification, and production launch. The engineer will also be responsible for projects focused on usage of existing components in new system applications, quality improvement, and cost reduction.

Typical task breakdown:

• Work with suppliers and internal process partners to develop new sensing component following new product introduction (NPI) and new technology introduction (NTI) process. Conduct lab validation and/or data analysis for prototype or returned sensing components. Provide technical and application support to electrical system team engineers as design control owner for sensors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor"s of Science degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical engineering or equivalent required.
• Top candidates would have advanced degrees (Master and/or Ph.D)
• Relevant Master"s degree would apply as two years" experience toward minimum requirement.
• Applicable Internship experience will be considered toward work experience but durations must be listed on resume.
• Past experience in electronics packaging or electronics manufacturing
• Requires strong customer service skills as role involves understanding and responding to requests.
• Project management and analytical skills to collaborate with customers, suppliers, product support, purchasing, systems engineering.
• Candidate needs to have hands-on experience and conduct hands-on work.
• Past experience with data link acquisition tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, dSPACE is desired.
• 6 sigma training or experience desired.
• Electrical lab experience with troubleshooting down to a circuit board desired.
