Wilson & Company is seeking an Electrical Design Technician to provide complex electrical drawing packages, executed in a CADD software package to support the project schedules. These projects can be in the commercial, industrial, utility, midstream, petrochemical, mining, minerals, material handling, food processing, agricultural, power, distribution, and municipal facilities. This position is located in Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO. Candidate must be willing to lead teams and teach how to perform lighting design, power layouts, simple electrical system design, and understand and follow the NEC requirements. This will offer qualified candidates the opportunity to grow in experience and capabilities. There will be opportunities for cross discipline coordination into civil, structural, and mechanical drawings sets. A self-motivating personality with good communication skills is desired as they may be leading the entire design team across disciplines.

Position duties include:

• Developing designs from engineering conceptual discussions and sketches
• Validating and teaching lighting design using software systems
• Developing complete building lighting systems and circuiting
• Building one lines from load lists
• Developing wiring diagrams from schematic diagrams
• Developing panel layouts based on the engineering components.
• Coordinating electrical packages and directing small teams of CADD staff.
• Working with drafters and engineers to complete the project on schedule
• Mentoring drafters and communicating company standards

  • Advanced understanding of:
    • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation programs, including add-ons
    • Microsoft product line experience
    • BlueBeam software and editing
    
    

• Minimum 10 years of experience
• Applicable employment history and project experience
• 3D project experience is a plus
• Field experience is a plus

Annual Salary Range: $62,000 - $98,000
