Eligible candidates must have at least 4+ years of experience in the Health and Safety (EHS) area to be considered

Description:

The Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability & Compliance (EHSS&C) Coordinator contributes to the EHSS&C team providing primary support and coordination of Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability & Compliance activities such as training, record keeping and data management. The EHSS&C Coordinator is a team player and customer service focused. Ideal candidates will have experience with data management, reporting, and working in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint and SharePoint, and supporting EHSS&C programs such as Hazardous Waste, Respiratory Protection, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Training.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Environmental, Health and Safety Management Team for overall EHS process implementation and oversight.
  • Formatting EHSS training, programs and SOPs Managing change in EHSS programs, SOPs, training and signage
  • Design and develop analytics and data visualizations that help the team make data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain filing systems for Environmental, Health and Safety activities, such as programs, SOPs, training records and hazardous waste manifests.
  • Manage floor warden team to facilitate meetings, maintain records, and coordinate and provide training.
  • Update safety manuals, SOP, etc. to assist with business partners that Global EHSS support.
  • Prepare physical and digital signage, messaging and coordinate rollout with CorpComm/REF Business Operations i.e Evac guides and emergency guide, FW elements, NTE signage
  • Manage EHSS blog and Safety Bulletin boards
  • Acts as a system administrator by screening ticketing systems and EHSS&C inbox, assigning to EHSS team members and managing tickets to closure
  • Coordination of incident data tracking and metrics
  • Prepare appropriate slides, agenda, and minutes for applicable meetings
  • Act as a scribe for high level meetings to capture pertinent details for EHSS&C staff members
  • Coordinates safety committee meetings for multiple sites, including scheduling, minutes, and catering
  • Schedules and coordinates various EHSS&C training classes including initial and refresher training. Acts as a learning administrator within the enterprise Learning Management System to monitor EHSS&C training metrics, schedule classes, and enter training rosters from completed classes
  • Maintains up-to-date information on internal EHSS&C SharePoint site; coordinates changes / updates to the pages as requested by content owners
  • Maintains the department compliance calendar to ensure regulated activities are completed on schedule and documents accordingly
  • Coordinates the EHSS&C onboarding of all new hires, tracking, recording, and documenting training completions, occupational health requirements, and other requirements for new staff
  • Supports ergonomic program e.g. Ergonomic equipment triage of requests, equipment deliveries, prepare and submit purchase requests for ergonomic equipment, signage and other ad hoc items as requested
  • Support respiratory protection program i.e. conducting fit testing, restocking respirator supplies and face masks, maintaining EHSS (respirator and face masks) inventory
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in an EHS department
  • Minimum of one year experience in risk management for research and development, office, and manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of occupational hazard identification
  • Familiar with Ergonomics, occupational health, and lab safety
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports
  • Ability to work independently
  • Prior biotech experience desired
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, science, or related field from a four-year College or university
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Skills with MS Office products such as Excel, Word
  • Strong work ethic and thrives in a team environment
