As a senior member of the EI Strategy team, the Editorial Innovation Lead will guide a variety of global projects from ideation to execution, each with the ultimate goal of maximizing our ability to capture the essence of titles on Netflix.

They will focus on establishing editorial best practices and enhancing title-level insights for business-critical titles. The EI Strategy Lead will evolve pre-launch tagging methods and develop post-launch data analysis for all types of content (films/series, gaming, etc.), and explore moments curation opportunities while collaborating with EI managers and key POCs across Creative Production and the wider Netflix business.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring successful execution of new editorial strategies and processes across a wide range of global content, of all types, genres, and platforms
  • Interpret department’s team mission and bets in order to expertly focus EI’s innovation initiatives
  • Lead specific editorial experiments and A/B tests across EI’s global team and diverse content catalog
  • Serve as an advocate for EI Strategy and act as a partner to EI’s Metadata Development and Scale teams, as well as the department’s Ratings Policy and Curation & Taxonomy squads
  • Objectively treat and creatively position business-critical content via tags, metadata, collections and in-depth analysis

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in delivering new editorial features from ideation to implementation
  • Ability to drive high-profile, cross-functional initiatives without direct management of partner contributors and in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated creative and editorial strategic abilities
  • Experience working with senior content commissioning and content development partners and teams (particularly in TV or Film)
  • Established and demonstrable communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Expertise working with large, complex data catalogs
  • Technically adept, with mastery of internal workflow tools and data-driven systems
