Position Title: HVAC Technician

Position Overview: The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant by conducting preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Perform electrical trouble-shooting and installation of new wiring
• Inspect and maintain kitchen appliance equipment and refrigerators
• Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance functions such as changing light bulbs and ballasts, unplugging drains and faucets, hot water heater repair, changing doors and locks, etc.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs minor building and equipment repairs.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Assists the Director of Operations and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
• Perform on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation.
• Respond to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed.
• Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested.
• Cooperate with staff of other departments when needed.
• Represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude.
• Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information.
• Must be able to perform weekend rotation schedule, shift work, respond to after- hour’s emergency call-ins, and callbacks, holiday coverages, weekends, or as required for the operational needs of East Ridge at Cutler Bay.
• Perform other duties as required.

You Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical Schooling and/or background preferred.
• Applicant must have a HVAC Certification
• A minimum of one year of applicable working experience in general building repair, maintenance and HVAC system PM’s.
• Experience with HVCA, appliances, security and sprinkler systems, lifeline systems, fire alarms, plumbing, heating, electric and/or any other related repair or maintenance is preferred.
