Early Start Developmental/Behavior Therapist (Children 0 - 6yrs)

*Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.

Position Summary: Provides the majority of direct care services. Provides specific intervention activities and are responsible for implementing the IFSP plan, delivering program lessons and systems, collecting data, assisting with assessment delivery and reporting case specific needs, progress, concerns and/or unusual events to the EI Program Supervisor. This positions applies to Early Start Cases and Insurance Funded cases with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Services.

General Duties: The following duties are a list of basic required functions in fulfillment of the position. Additional responsibilities and expectations are developed on a case by case basis in order to meet the needs of needs of families and consumers served.

  • Work with contracted learners carrying out instructional programs as designed by the EI Program Director and EI Program Supervisor, in conjunction with the parents and/or caregivers.
  • Under general oversight of the EI Program Supervisor, schedules, attends and implements intervention systems in a professional manner adhering to standards of Department of Developmental Services and Title 17.
  • Have frequent and ongoing contact with case related EI program Supervisor informing of case specific needs, progress, concerns, unusual events and making program modification suggestions.
  • Traveling to home and other community settings, as required, to deliver EI programs. (Mileage is reimbursed between sites @ .58 cents per mile)
  • Completes all necessary documentation related to program in a timely and objective manner including but not limited to data, treatment notes, timesheets and general progress reports.
  • Provides frequent, pertinent and professional communication to parents, caregivers, EI supervisors and other providers or team members as appropriate.
  • Attends staff meetings, trainings, in-services, IFSP’s and other EI case relevant meetings as requested.
  • Assist EI Program Director or Program Supervisor in delivery of assessments.
  • Assist EI Program Director or Program Supervisor, in conjunction with parents and/or care givers, in preparation of instructional and behavioral programming that will promote achievement of IFSP objectives.
  • Prepare program materials (as requested) and keep materials left in the home in a neat and organized manner.
  • Report grievances related to EI Program Supervisor to the EI Program Director.

Certificate, License and/or Registration Requirements: The following is a list of requirements all staff working on in-home programs must meet.

  • Current California Driver’s License.
  • Ownership or access to a vehicle covered by current automobile insurance.
  • Current CPR and First Aide Certification including Infant CPR.
  • Negative TB test.
  • Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
