As an Assistant Teacher, you will join us in supporting a warm, nurturing, loving and safe environment, where each child has the opportunity to develop cognitive, verbal, social, emotional, and physical skills appropriately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing a balanced daily routine that encourages play, exploration and learning, and which includes teacher-directed and child-directed activities, both inside and outside.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• DCF 45-hour training preferred or begin within 30 days of hire and complete within 12 months.
• Knowledge of child growth and development as well as developmentally appropriate practices for children ages birth to 5 years preferred.
• Prior experience in a child care setting preferred.
• Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years and complete a Protecting God’s Children (PGC) class .
• Complete Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification within 6 months of hire.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.24 - $16.00 per hour
