The College of Arts and Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a Driver to work in Miami, FL.

The Driver provides secure and dependable transportation services for assigned department(s). Furthermore, the Driver ensures that vehicle operation activities comply at all times with established safe driving methods and standards, University policies and procedures, and external rules and regulations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Reports any criminal or suspicious activities.
• Informs appropriate staff regarding hazardous road conditions and any traffic citations, violations, or incidents.
• Conducts visual and physical inspection of the assigned vehicle before, during, and after operation.
• Refuels and cleans the interior of the vehicle.
• Reports and addresses any maintenance problems or vehicle service needs.
• Maintains contact with and follows all instructions and directions from managing staff.
• Follows all established routes and takes detours only when absolutely necessary.
• Keeps accurate time schedules and other necessary records.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification and Licensing:

Valid driver’s license.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Commitment to the University’s core values.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office).
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Valid State of Florida driver’s license.
