Driver Payroll Manager

Cowan Systems is seeking a full time Driver Payroll Manager for our corporate office in Baltimore, Maryland. Qualified candidates are detail orientated, thorough, professional, and have management and payroll experience.

Job Duties:

• Oversee complex payroll for over 1700 tractor trailer drivers paid hourly and/ or by the mile.
• Ensure monthly driver bonus initiatives are implemented accurately to ensure proper payment for eligible drivers.
• Manage 3 Driver Payroll Supervisors who’s teams together total between 15-20 employees.
• Holding daily/ weekly team touch base.
• In conjunction with the Director of Payroll, work to create goals and KPI’s to measure processing time, workload, payroll processor accuracy to ensure the department is continuing to run efficiently and effectively with the changes of business.
• Coordinate and maintain payroll records for all assigned personnel including but not limited to weekly approval of time for the department and approval of PTO requests.
• Weekly, monthly and annual reporting for Accounting and Executives. Including but not limited to Weekly GL and Summary reports for accounting, monthly reporting to BOL, annual reports for auditors, etc.…
• Accurate entry of data into Paylocity including but not limited to weekly deduction catch up for employees that have returned from LOA, garnishment set up, add new locations when needed, etc.…
• Communicate and manage pay rate changes with Rates and Payroll teams
• Maintain the payroll SharePoint resource page for all operations teams – includes schedules, processes, PTO information, etc.…

Job Requirements:

• Payroll Experience required, minimum 5+ years
• Management Experience required, minimum 2+ years
• Transportation or Trucking experience is a plus
• Ability to work successfully and professionally in a team-based environment
• Excellent computer skills required (Microsoft Office Excel)
• Motivated leader that can guide a team day to day while incorporating larger strategic initiatives
• Dependability - consistently at work and on time (being punctual)
• Extremely organized and detail oriented
• Exceptional customer service skills
