Job Title: Donor Relations Coordinator

Location: San Francisco, CA

Pay Rate: $27-30/HR

Position Overview:

This center for children and families is the place to begin for any child or youth to get the mental health care, social services, and academic support they need from highly trained, welcoming professionals. Through committed staff, many with lived experiences, who strongly believe in the mission, they offer a full range of services for children, youth, and families in the San Francisco Bay Area. Established in 1851, they were the first children’s non-profit in the Western United States.

Building on a strong and dynamic foundation of service in the Bay Area, today they offer over 25 programs in San Francisco and San Mateo counties. On its unique property and across 6 locations, prevention and early intervention, community-based services, intensive programs, including 24-hour crisis stabilization and intervention in two counties and residential care are provided to over 5000 children and youth each year.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Identify appropriate individual donor prospects, both new and existing donors with greater impact capacity.
  • Create and execute plans for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of these prospects.
  • Develop ‘moves plans’ for all assigned prospects, when appropriate, ask for the donation and close the gift.
  • Personally, develop relationships with prospects, solicit prospects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with program staff to understand programs and anticipate funding needs.
  • Effectively communicate regarding fundraising activities and progress versus goals.
  • Utilize systems to optimize mid-level and major gift fundraising activities. Keep up-to-date prospect activity records in CRM.
  • Promote a collegial atmosphere within the fundraising department, and organization-wide, working cooperatively with all fundraising staff to help them and the department attain its overall financial and advancement goals.
  • Able to meet goals on a consistent basis.
  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors, employing strategic thought process and collaboration with the team to secure annual commitments
  • Manage individual prospect/funder data
  • Manage grant proposal and reporting calendar and information and prospective grants
  • Manage data analysis and reports for individual funders in support of development analytics, donor communications and events planning
  • Provide regular reports on individual fundraising performance
Essential Qualifications
  • Excellent and proven project management skills, with the ability to stay organized, anticipate needs, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • At least 5 years of experience in individual donor management (cultivation, stewardship, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, juggle multiple priorities, manage time independently, and pivot when needed
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and communicate clearly
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with people from a range backgrounds, experience, and skill levels
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a broader team
  • Flexible - work well with some degree of ambiguity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work in an open office environment
