Part Time Floating Dog Walker- Pittsburgh East End- Part Time

Merry Puppins is an award winning dog walking & pet sitting company servicing Pittsburgh's East End (Highland Park, Morningside, Lawrenceville, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Regent Square, Aspinwall, etc...) and surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who is passionate about walking dogs to join our growing team! Get your steps in, stay fit, and get to know all the best doggos in town!

We are looking for someone who has professional experience working with dogs, volunteer experience working with dogs, or extensive personal dog handling experience. We need someone who is very comfortable around dogs of all sizes.

This position is for a part time Floating Dog Walker, 2-4 days per week (Monday- Friday). Your day will start between 9-11 am (based on your availability and our needs) and you'll be wrapping up between 2:00-4:00 each day. You'll be going on around 3-6 walks/ hikes of varying length during these hours. You'll get to know the dogs you walk and build relationships with them.

If you love the job and are a great fit, this position can potentially evolve to 5 days per week. If you are only looking to work 2-4 days, that is OK too!

No pack walks! We walk mostly 1 dog at a time, and occasionally 2 dogs from the same household (if it is safe to do so). We care deeply about the safety of our team and the animals we care for.

Here is what we ask you to do:

• Be available to walk dogs middays, at least 3 days per week, Monday through Friday.
• During these hours, you will travel to clients' homes and walk their dogs. People may or may not be home when we come.
• Be able to walk one or two dogs (from the same household) at a time (no pack walks!).
• Provide comprehensive service, including washing and refilling water bowls, giving treats, cleaning messes, bringing in packages, cuddles, playtime, etc...

Did we mention this job requires you to play with puppies too? Puppies!!

Job Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and registered/ insured reliable transportation.
• Live in or near our service area, Pittsburgh's East End, or be able to commute to this area.
• Pass a background check.
• Because we invest heavily in our team members, we are looking for people who can commit to this position for at least one year from time of hire.
• Must have smartphone with internet and camera to access our apps, along with the data needed to function.
• Must be very comfortable around dogs of all breeds and sizes.
• Be physically capable of walking on various surfaces while handling dogs, have the stamina to go on multiple walks per day, and be able to walk in all sorts of weather.
• Be able to follow detailed instructions so that we can provide the very best animal care.
• Must successfully complete training and be able to work independently.
• Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. When interacting with clients in person, wear a mask. Some clients are home when we come to walk their dogs.
