JOB DESCRIPTION

The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Specialist will work closely with the VP HR Transformation and D&I Manager to support all aspects of EQR's D&I efforts. This individual will deliver on major projects while building content knowledge to achieve program goals. The Specialist will contribute to the development and execution of D&I programs, initiatives and activities at EQR. This individual will also contribute to the advancement of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality solutions and services that increase employee and leader awareness and action in support of D&I and organizational culture-related programs

In this role you will help in successfully orchestrating multiple DEI programs, projects and events. You will aid in the creation of new processes, innovate new ways of thinking/doing, and help launch impactful programs. You will also support efforts in event management, project/program management, content creation and storytelling, team meetings, operations, special projects and more!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide support to theD&I Manager
    including project management, action plan development, event and training coordination, community partnerships and more.
  • Generate creative ways to build on the success of established D&I programs.
  • Collaborate with various groups across the organization on targeted programs and projects for various diversity initiatives.
  • Develop, execute and manage programs and events
    , including cultural/heritage months, community dialogues, keynote speakers among other important facets.
  • Program management and support for various inclusion initiatives
    e.g., Internship Program, Equity Values Council.
  • Support D&I programs through reporting and analytics
    , system management, action plan development, materials preparation.
  • Monitor industry and peers to determine trends and standing of Equity D&I initiatives
    and metrics to ensure industry leadership.
  • Collaborate with our business partners to build programs and awareness.
    Assist with the development and implementation to increase employee engagement, market awareness, and their impact on business. Coordination to include budgeting, planning, mentoring, and connecting to empower the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging diversity and inclusion principles and best practices
    on diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement and recommend appropriate changes to programs, policies and/or practices.
  • Fulfill any administrative needs related to department operations
    , such as, preparing reports and organizing documents, scheduling etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prepare timely and accurate reports, provide concrete ideas on what we measure and how we measure it, and analyze the results to provide actionable information that enhances the value of DEI.

Work collaboratively with the Design team to develop DEI content and assets for internal and external company communication channels that showcase DEI programs and company culture.

Support the planning, operations, and logistics for DEI events, programs, and initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three (3) years of organizational experience.
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion challenges in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Track record in designing process for new initiatives.
  • Proactive self-starter, takes the initiative with a learning curiosity
  • Proven ability to strategize and work proactively.
  • Self-driven and able to manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills; experience tracking data, reporting, and providing metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience influencing, relationship building, and communicating across organization.;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast - paced, dynamic environment.
