Responsibilities:

This role will assist the Director, Supplier Management, in the management and continuous improvement of AmeriHealth Caritas’ enterprise supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives. This position will support a consistent enterprise-wide approach to be leveraged nationally and across business units, to manage and improve cost and compliance to the processes entrusted to third party suppliers by AmeriHealth Caritas. This position will support strategic development, including stakeholder engagement and capacity building and oversight of the Supplier Diversity Program. This position will support development and implementation of Supplier Management tasks and leveraging best practices to report specific to diverse spend across the enterprise.

  • Supplier Management: Support the management of our suppliers, while providing governance for additional suppliers to be managed within the Lines of Business. Support the measurement and evaluation of supplier performance using service level agreements and supplier scorecards.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Develop supplier relationships based on mutual trust, interest and goals. Listen and understand supplier key drivers. Set strategic direction. Seek growth opportunities for supplier utilization.
  • Compliance: Promote a culture of compliance with suppliers and business owners. Adhere to business rules and legal regulation. Provide training on policies and procedures. Contractual compliance with financial and non-financial rules and regulations. Perform audits on BCP’s, SOP’s, data privacy, etc.
  • Financial and Contractual Risk: Ensure accurate PO/invoicing process, properly accrue at year end, and ensure supplier invoices are timely and accurate. Establish audit routines to verify contract deliverables and compliance aspects.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with key members of the Caritas team. Work across geographic and organizational boundaries with regular operating rhythms. Serve as an escalation point for supplier, employee services, and business customers. Develop collaborative relationships with managers, key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Support implementation of our supplier diversity strategy in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilize metrics to measure performance against goals
  • Identify aspects of AmeriHealth Caritas sourcing processes that might be barriers of entry for diverse suppliers
  • Positions AmeriHealth Caritas favorably with suppliers and acts as an advocate for AmeriHealth Caritas interests relative to suppliers' actions and policies
  • Support efforts to build and maintain supplier partnerships and relationships, resolve issues, conflicts and cultural differences, and implement B2B solutions as needed
  • Should become knowledgeable and able to advocate sourcing practices and methodologies related to the acquisition of goods and services
  • Collaborate with end user and sourcing managers to increase participation of diversesuppliers during RFIs, RFPs, direct negotiation and other procurement opportunities
  • Partner with external Diversity Councils and Supplier Diversity Advocacy partners to identify suppliers qualified to provide services and goods that satisfy our business requirements
  • Support growth and expansion of Mentor Protégé initiatives.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years managed care experience, supply chain management, procurement
  • Professional experience with supplier diversity and supplier sustainability programs
  • Knowledge of supplier diversity and supplier sustainability programs
  • Good business process knowledge, especially in relation to procurement and/or category management
  • Solid interpersonal, communication & relationship building skills at all levels of the organization.
