JOB OPENING

The Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is accepting applications for a District Manager/District Specialist I. This is a full-time position with health insurance and retirement benefits. Starting hourly wage is $15.00 with advancement opportunities. These advancements are considered with successful testing and years of service.

Position Overview

The role of the District Manager/District Specialist is to manage and oversee the operations of the Cass Soil and Water Conservation District. Primary responsibilities will be to provide education to the public about soil and water conservation issues in Cass County. Drafting an annual plan of work and annual budget for district operations, as well as maintaining appropriate accounting, payroll and tax records will be essential. Coordinating requests for district support and assistance with soil conservation practices will be a secondary duty of this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to create and deliver conservation related education programs for youth and adults
• Basic computer skills required
• Knowledge of basic financial management techniques and practices
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Ability to maintain records and prepare various reports
• Ability to assist with conservation planning and practice designs
• Able to work under high workload periods
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Missouri driver’s license required. A high school diploma or GED is required. A degree in business administration, communications, education, agriculture or related experience desirable. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a USDA background check.
