Purpose

Maintains kitchen work areas, food service equipment and utensils in a clean and orderly condition. Position is Full Time from 1pm to 8pm any day of the week as scheduled by the supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Cleans, organizes, and sanitizes all food service equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and all work areas including refrigerators, dish machine, floors, mats and drains according to cleaning schedule and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintains equipment temperature logs.
  • Assists cooks with preparation of meals as needed.
  • Sets up and breaks down employee meals.
  • Segregates, sorts, removes trash and recyclables and disposes them in designated containers.
  • Maintains inventory on chemicals (15 C).
  • Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and reports and/or corrects potential/actual hazards.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with ACS’s mission and core values.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
