Director/ Workforce Development and Business Operations
Easterseals New Jersey has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Workforce Development and Business Operations!
This highly visible leadership role is an integral part of the Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Portfolio leadership team.

You are responsible for leadership, staff management, and organizational strategy; program oversight and growth; financial performance and viability of assigned programs, strategic planning, and implementation; and quality and safety of assigned programs.
Working in conjunction with the AVP, IDD Services, and other Senior Leaders across the agency, you are responsible for the oversight of outreach, billing, and compliance initiatives, as well as driving business results through their people, geographically located throughout the State of New Jersey.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Effectively communicates with community stakeholders, program participants, and external agency funders.
  • Successfully communicate the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the IDD service to internal teams.
  • Travels to respective IDD sites throughout New Jersey.
  • Builds strong internal and external business relationships.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Leadership & Staff Management:
  • Effectively utilizes staff resources including actively participating in the hiring/firing process, implementing retention strategies, ensuring the effective utilization of staffing resources, and effectively delegating responsibilities.
  • Mentor and coach management teams
Program Oversight & Growth:
  • Achieves targeted level of service and securing opportunities for program development and growth.
Strategic Planning/Implementation:
  • Collaborates with the VP, Population Health IDD, and relevant Departments across the agency
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the competitive marketplace.
  • Identifies new opportunities for growth and threats to current market share, collects and analyzes data to support findings, and develops business plans for implementation of new services and new sites of service.
Financial Performance and Viability:
  • Accountable for financial operations, management of the operating budget, development of annual budgets, provision of variance reports, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborates with Business Development to identify grant opportunities.
Quality & Safety:
  • Assures that quality services meet the needs of persons served; preserve their rights; honor their choices/preferences.
  • Participates in agency committees and projects.
  • Ensures all program services are consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Partners with compliance on investigations of serious reportable incidents.
  • Ensures all contractual obligations including contract outcomes, reports, contract renewals, modifications, contract fiscal analysis, and licensing inspections/program audits.
  • Partners with IT to ensure electronic systems enhance the department’s efficiencies and ability to measure outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree required with three + years of strategic leadership experience in business operations.
  • Experience in the service industry; experience with people with special needs preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and relationship management skills (both internal and external).
  • Experience managing large-scale projects in a changing environment.
