The Strategic Sourcing Director, Indirect Spend, will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing Category strategies to maximize value in buying products and services in assigned spend categories including consulting, contingent labor, marketing and other spend categories as required. Oversees the execution of the category plan including sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and management, supplier relationship management and stakeholder relationship management.

Responsibilities include:

• Understanding the current Spend Profile in all its aspects within the assigned categories and be able to complete in-depth data and spend analysis based on historical purchasing patterns

• In conjunction with key stakeholders and based upon the spend profile, knowledge of the market; devise, develop, implement and maintain effective Category strategies and plans for the assigned categories using a strategic focus and long-term view

• Continually and proactively influence key stakeholders through active discussion and collaboration to deliver all category management objectives including Total Cost of Ownership savings, Purchase price savings, Cost Avoidance, Supplier Consolidation, Security of Supply, Efficiency improvements and Innovation, Internal Stakeholder satisfaction, Demand management, Environmental and social sustainability, Regulatory compliance

• Lead, drive and deliver the implementation of sourcing strategies using appropriate sourcing methodologies for in scope spend, ensuring alignment with business requirements, while optimizing cost and maximizing value

• Be a source of expert knowledge for the assigned categories, for both existing Supplier engagements and potential capabilities in the broader supply market

• Deliver to savings targets

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience with minimum 15 years’ experience in a sourcing or procurement role required. Minimum 10 years category management experience required and healthcare experience preferred. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding and knowledge of indirect spend categories.
