The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics is responsible for the overall operational administration and management of the warehouse, facility, and logistics.

This role will develop and implement strategies for improving key performance indicators including shipping goals, on-time delivery, pick rates, and accuracy.

The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics will ensure inventory is accounted for in a safe and efficient manner to identified fulfillment partners and establish and maintain workflow processes as necessary to meet delivery goals as well as performance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics will plan and implement strategies to meet outlined goals and fulfill responsibilities, as related but not limited to:

Operations

  • Oversees the implementation of all warehouse operations, including logistics, scheduling systems, delivery, and transportation, loading dock activity, storage and security, emergency action plans, and closing procedures.
  • Develops and drives culture of accountability through daily assessments and operational evaluation.
  • Upon review of operating results takes steps to correct any issues or concerns.
  • Directs the activities involved in the efficient movement of product including accurate receipt, storage and distribution maximizing space, resources and avoiding waste or damages.
  • Establishes effective procedures and controls for the safe and efficient movement of product.
  • Ensures an accurate inventory of products at all times through a maintained WMS inventory control system.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain team to set and maintain inventory levels and requirements.
  • Directly accountable for the successful implementation, assessment, and transition of all new operational initiatives.
  • Analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact of emerging technologies to create efficiencies in warehousing and logistics.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of productivity standards and goals in support of the annual operating plan.
  • Develops or directs the creation of metrics to measure the performance of all areas of warehouse and logistics.
  • Cultivates a high performance, result-oriented culture by maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Using quantifiable metrics and management expertise, performs departmental audits to determine cost benefit as well as demand and service capacity.
  • Ensures optimal effectiveness and production through effective use of inventory software specifically warehouse management, inventory procurement and management, labor control, and distribution logistics.
  • Serves as a member of the Leadership team and as such is responsible for providing leadership in decision-making and vision building for the company.

Facilities / Equipment

  • Ensures equipment and facility are operational while identifying opportunities for improvement to reduce waste and manage repair needs.
  • Oversees preventative maintenance for vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
  • Suggests replacement schedule for facility systems, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Develops and manages the safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, or related degree.
  • Minimum of five-ten years of prior management experience in operational roles.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience.
  • Five years’ experience with distribution/logistics systems preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred; WMS.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Moderate level of Excel required; Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, Conditional formatting.
  • Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, process improvement mindset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
