Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and musical instruments is seeking to hire a Director of Strategic Pricing to add to our growing Merchandising team. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert in market pricing, working collaboratively with senior management to drive Sweetwater’s strategic pricing plan. As the Director of Strategic Pricing, you will be responsible for pricing analysis and insight across all planning levels, working side-by-side with head merchants to understand price elasticity and market opportunities for growth in sales velocity, profitability, and new customer acquisition. In addition, the Director of Strategic Pricing will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of price changes, analysis, and reporting. This position reports to the SVP of Merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales, new customer acquisition, and profitability through strategic pricing actions
• Develop advanced analyses of competitive market pricing across all planning levels, including pre and post outcome analysis for pricing elasticity
• Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, tools, technologies, and systems to improve visibility and analyses for market pricing
• Work with Forecasting and Planning teams to ensure pricing actions are made in conjunction with necessary forecast changes to drive appropriate purchasing decisions.
• Represent the pricing function in presenting to senior leadership
• Have a deep understanding of competitive pricing strategies and customer behavior in ecomm
• Develop expertise in our platforms to facilitate efficiency, reporting, and visualization for pricing data
• Develop and lead a team of pricing coordinators

Qualifications:

• Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; projects confidence facing senior management
• Ability to manage multiple tasks; possess strong management skills
• Strong collaborator with the ability to build and manage cross-departmental relationships
• Experience analyzing large amounts of data
• Working knowledge of 3rd party pricing analysis providers
• BA/BS in Finance, Marketing, Business Administration or related field required, MBA/MS degree preferred
• 5+ years of relevant business experience in the field of strategic pricing in consumer goods
