JOB PURPOSE:
Ensures the effective implementation of the Girls Inc. of Memphis growth plan in Shelby County Schools. Director School-Based will stabilize then secure leadership staff to sustain new-market growth programs. Will ensure the delivery of Girls Inc. programming is at capacity and of the highest quality in keeping with the Girls Inc. Experience, mission, and annual goals at all school-based program locations. The Director School-Based will work collaboratively with program directors to plan and implement expansion strategies to achieve expansion goals. This position builds and engages collaborative relationships; recruit new participants; supervise and support School-Based Coordinator and volunteers; maintain an inclusive, safe, and effective program environment; maintain accurate records and reports of expansion programs; develop and nurture positive relationships with participant families, community schools, organizations, businesses, and volunteers to support agency growth and expansion goals.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish a Strategic program plan annually
  • Budget and calendar annual program for centers and partnerships
  • Represent Girls Inc. in community collaborations and disseminate knowledge (seeding success, School-partners and community partners, etc.)
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, upbeat, and comfortable speaking in front of groups of varying ages, sizes, and cultural backgrounds
  • Servers as GIM Data Lead: Oversee, analyze, and report accurate participant tracking and outcome systems (Ez Text, JotForm, Compass, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Create and submit program reports for internal review, board reports, Girls Inc. reports, grants, and other purposes
  • Supports VP in the data collection and reporting for Girls Inc.’s Annual Survey
  • Drive full engagement and implementation of talent talk performance support and accountability system with all program department staff
  • Hire and provide direct supervision and coaching to School Coordinators
  • Creates School-based program flyers in English and Spanish for school coordinators
  • Deepening and widening the Girls Inc. of Memphis program reach to more girls and ensuring that we maintain mission alignment and quality delivery in new market sites
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for new partnerships with an emphasis in schools in Shelby County
  • Work closely with VP to ensure all expansion efforts are consistent with and supportive of strategic plan
  • Support the transition of the new leadership team at new growth sites
  • Oversee the coordination and management of scheduling, programming, and facilitation, for new market sites
  • Meets regularly with school partners to ensure quality assurance and programming fidelity
  • Participate in ongoing and regular facilitator and coordinator observation process
  • Manage participant recruitment, registration, on-boarding, and retention process with participants and families of new market sites
  • Manages the effective and efficient program delivery model is documented, implemented, and evaluated through our database/process in reference to online registration, outcomes evaluation agreement forms, outcome evaluations, etc.
  • Serve as an agency representative in the community for recruitment and marketing of Girls Inc. of Memphis
  • Give and receive regular constructive feedback from VP Programs and Board Program Committee members
  • Establish, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback, as well as review expansion staff annual objectives on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Actively seek personal and professional growth opportunities for self and any staff, including participation in conferences, training, meetings, and seminars
  • Follow all agency policy and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook
  • Represent Girls Inc of Memphis in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.
  • Supports all department and agency events
  • Performs all other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned, cheerfully

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must model the Girls Inc. mission of a Strong, Smart, and Bold individual exhibiting strong leadership qualities and a can-do attitude
  • Master’s preferred, but at least a bachelor’s degree, with courses in education, recreation, psychology, and/or sociology preferred
  • Must have work experience in youth work in which at least 2 years was in the supervision of multi-site staff, administration, curriculum and course design, and community relations.
  • Minimum three-year supervisory experience with a diverse population of staff and volunteers, including the ability to coach others on supervision
  • Experience in expansion into new sites and recruitment of new participants
  • Knowledge of/interest in youth development, gender equity, entrepreneurship, social justice, civic engagement, and community engagement
  • Demonstrated abilities in incorporating a diversity of cultures, ethnicity, languages abilities, and socioeconomic background in work with staff and in programming
  • Experience providing a hands-on approach with a drive to create leads and systematically develop prospects and partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to network, communicate and build strong and genuine relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally, visually, in writing, and via computer with youth, teachers, coworkers, and volunteers
  • Experience in and enthusiasm for supporting volunteer involvement
  • A sense of humor and a desire to be an integral member of a learning community
