Position Summary:

The Director of Resident Services oversees trauma informed support services for over 300 low-income and formerly homeless women, many of whom are survivors of domestic violence. This position assures residents receive the support they need to continue to live independently and to access resources that promote economic self-sufficiency, health and wellness. The Director of Resident Services develops and maintains diverse community partnerships to offer a more comprehensive service delivery model including linkages to programs for survivors of violence, medical and mental health care, senior services, financial literacy, entitlements, and trauma informed therapeutic programming. The Director of Resident Services supervises all resident service staff including social workers, case managers and interns. This position also works directly with individual residents as needed. The Director is responsible for assuring programming is in full compliance with funder and regulatory requirements. This position manages all program data as well as internal and external reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and supervise all resident service staff
  • Oversee trauma informed crisis intervention, assessment, referrals and follow up
  • Coordinate support services and case management for residents struggling to live independently to assure their needs are met by care providers and community services
  • Lead weekly department meetings to assess progress, develop individualized plans and review programs
  • Collaborate with the housing department to identify residents in need of support services
  • Assure new residents are provided information about support services and resources available to them
  • Prevent homelessness for residents at risk through supervision of intensive, coordinated case management including assistance with applications for rent subsidies, entitlements, financial literacy, APS referrals, etc.
  • Assure seniors aging-in-place receive the adaptive services they need to continue to live independently, with dignity, in a community of their peers
  • Maintain robust trauma informed programming including workshops, groups and events that provide support, education, healing and community
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, referrals and resources in key areas to assure residents have access to the highest quality services and care.
  • Expand community network as needed and maintain an updated resource guide
  • Ensure that all program goals are met and that all regulatory and funder agreements are in full compliance
  • Manage program administrative functions including tracking of resident data, services provided and outcomes in program software
  • Prepare accurate, on-time program reports to meet internal and external requirements
  • Audit program files to assure program remains in full compliance
  • Maintain all program documentation and ensure confidentiality of data
  • Participate in relevant, task forces, coalitions and collaborations
  • Represent the YWCA Brooklyn at public events and in the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in community based setting
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Expertise with trauma informed programming
  • Committed to social justice mission
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations
  • Collaborative and skilled with multidisciplinary teams
  • Highly organized with proven ability to meet deadlines in fast paced work environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Technologically proficient

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
