Position Summary

Advance a patient safety program that promotes a culture of safety and the elimination of avoidable harm. Responsibilities include:

  • Prevent future harm by initiating and overseeing proactive evaluation and resdisgn of systems to improve care processes.
  • Support improved outcomes by emphasizing both appropriate behaviors and robust systmes that include concise accountablity measures and follow up.
  • Improve consistent delivery of evidence based care and reduction of preventalbe harm by focusion on reliablity and applying the principles of reliable design.
  • Effectively report, investigate and anaylyze patient safey incidents, medical errors and potential risks in the facility.
  • Facilitate thorough and credible serioius event analysis to indentify and mitigate unintentended adverse patient outcomes and evaluate effectivenss of process changes.
  • Champion completion of Culture Safety Survey
  • Work with facility leaders and managers to ensure thorough, credible and timely event management.

Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center is a licensed 404 bed acute care facility. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Los Robles Hospital has the only Level II Trauma Center in Eastern Ventura County and the only Emergency Room in both Los Angeles and Ventura counties coveted EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) rating. In addition, it is the only hospital certified by both counties as a STEMI designated heart attack center for rapid heart attack response and is a certified Primary Stroke Center. With over 600 physicians on its medical staff, representing over 50 medical specialties, Los Robles is proud to be the community's most trusted resource for health and a regional destination for care.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare related field required, Master's preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years management experience in patient safey, risk and / or quality preferred.
  • Healthcare experience should be recent and within a clinical setting such as a Hospital or Ambulatory surgery center.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

  • Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) required;
  • If not already CPPS, must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Maintain CPPS while in role
  • Other licenses/certifications required by the State
