The Opportunity:

Reporting to the President, the Director of Operational Excellence will be responsible for all aspects of Quality in support of the entire organization, supporting the Quality staff in successfully managing and leading the organization. This key director opportunity will build breadth in the areas of analysis, planning, execution, and communication. This role will proactively expand the knowledge base to include tactical and strategic Quality initiatives, talent development, and organizational design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies performance gaps through data, best practices, and quality methods such as lean or six-sigma.
  • Defines and deploys end-to-end process approach that simplifies, standardizes, and automates processes through Continuous Improvement tools, such as Kaizen funnel process
  • Ensures the effective application of problem-solving techniques from root cause analysis to the implementation and sustainability of corrective and preventive actions driving continuous improvement, operational KPIs, and centers of excellence
  • Researches and implements new tools to aid in resolving complex process issues, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Define key developments for the company’s ERP system (ATLAS) and overall strategy for transforming operations
  • Establishes the Quality, Technical and Safety organization’s structure, leadership team and strategy
  • Manages the Technical, Quality and Safety teams and provides the support they need to be effective
  • Promotes organization-wide understanding, communication, and coordination of the Safety and Quality program.
  • Oversees Quality, Safety and Technical dashboard reporting and analyzes the validity of data/reports
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, process improvement, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or related discipline
  • Proven track record of leading and executing successful process improvement initiatives
  • Experience working within ISO 17025, ISO 9100 or ISO 9001 accredited management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel 20-25%
