The Raytheon Technologies Communications organization is seeking an Associate Director, Space Systems. The role’s principal focus is to support the Strategic Business Unit (SBU)’s portfolio and president, and deliver a comprehensive, integrated communications strategy. This role teams with the SBU’s leadership to develop the integrated plan based on business goals, an aligned narrative and promotion of marque capabilities and solutions. Reporting to the executive director, Business Communications, the associate director is skilled at influencing, initiating and delivering innovative work through a cross-functional team in a fast-paced Communications organization. The successful candidate will develop and promote strategic content through a defined and metrics-driven multi-channel strategy. The role is also responsible for effective communications counsel to the SBU leadership team, and coordination of communications plans and deliverables across RTX business units and corporate partners. The ideal candidate is a creative, driven and enthusiastic communicator experienced in integrated communications planning and execution.

Relationships: Establishes relationships at all levels of the organization – inspiring a matrixed team to commit to and deliver on the business’ communications goals and aligned integrated plan. The integrated plan is developed by the associate director’s ability to work collaboratively with the president and leadership team as well as the integrated Communications team.

Strategy: Develops integrated business communication plan – inclusive of capability-based marketing, pursuits and internal/executive initiatives – collaborating with PR counterparts to incorporate and execute external opportunities.

Metrics: Reports out on key metrics aligned to the business’ integrated strategy. Proactively implements continuous improvement ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute an integrated communications program – aligning internal/executive, marketing and media strategies and deliverables to business goals, an aligned narrative and promotion of marque capabilities and solutions.
  • Counsel senior leaders on recommended messaging, channels and timing of key communications that impact the business and employee experience.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal/external communications plan for the SBU president – aligned to the goals of the strategic business plan and his/her professional platform.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of creative and data-driven marketing campaigns focused on generating ROI of the business portfolio’s key capabilities and solutions.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of an internal communications strategy aimed at increasing employee connection to the business and engagement.
  • Work with colleagues to support external communications strategies and tactics related to our capabilities and business; including but not limited to media releases, social media channels, position statements, key messages, Q&A.
  • In partnership with PR, anticipate and manage communications for issues that could impact the company’s reputation among key stakeholders, employees, or disrupt business activities.
  • Create timely, relevant, dynamic written communications and presentations.
  • Produce internal communications to inform the employee population about progress against business strategies and goals.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years communications experience in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to influence and drive work across a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees, leadership and external organizations.
  • Prior experience building and executing integrated communications strategies.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and social communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience preparing and presenting materials on behalf of executives.
  • Strong executive presence and experience with executive coaching/counsel.
  • Communications and marketing analysis, including the ability to use data for impact.
  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability to changes in direction.

Relocation assistance is not available.

The salary range for this role is 152,000 USD - 304,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
