Job description
  • Manage group of 4-6 individuals who create financial statement packages
  • Review managed hotels' financial statements. Ensure proper accounting procedures and processes are followed in completion.
  • Ensure all balance sheet account analyses are maintained. Review for potential problems and reconciliation, which also includes bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledgers based on the company's chart of accounts.
  • Review, verify and approve bank reconciliations for each hotel. Ensure timely deposit and reconciliation of all funds.
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements for each assigned hotel according to ownership's month end closing schedule.
  • The financial statement package will include, but not limited to, Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
  • Support and communicate with Ownership/Asset Managers, property General Managers and Controllers regarding financial reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper accounting records, back up and reports in accordance with Remington's policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Train new Senior Hotel Accountants on financial statement preparation and other related required reporting.
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of all hotels managed by Remington. (i.e. understand operations)
  • Produce weekly cash forecasts
  • Maintain and assist in developing effective controls to monitor the financial position of all managed hotels.
  • Responsible for coordinating and assisting all internal and external auditors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Accounting and Senior Vice President of Accounting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in an accounting environment preferred
  • 5 years in the hospitality field
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent Multi-tasking Skills
  • Extremely Organized
  • Self-motivated and desire to grow
  • Superior training skills
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with all ownership groups and give excellent customer service
