About the role

As the Director - Market P&L - Texas, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and drive market-level business goals in compliance with regulatory requirements. You and your team will be responsible for Market Development, P&L Management, and cultivating relationships with health system and provider partners in the TX market.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing current and developing new key provider partner relationships (health systems, provider groups, etc), including negotiations and contracts, with the goal of ensuring your region is operating effectively and efficiently from both a business and member experience standpoint. The expectation is to construct and continuously improve Oscar's system, facility, and provider agreements to ensure that our strategic vision, operational standards, and financial interests are reflected in our network partnerships. You will also serve as the subject matter expert on the region and collaborate with internal stakeholders (including leadership) to understand Oscar's business goals and strategically influence the evolution of our partnership strategies.

You will report to the Vice President West Region. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in the following state: Texas. #LI-Remote

The base pay for this role is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Shape, maintain and oversee the business plan for your markets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key hospital and provider systems and oversee transactions within your market
  • Drive financial terms, rate structures, and key KPIs
  • Identify and execute on growth opportunities within your portfolio of network partners
  • Serve as the chief subject matter expert on your partners and be a key internal source of knowledge on relevant region and policy developments.
  • Build, manage, and constantly improve upon the workflows and systems that enable provider relationships and contracting.
  • Generate financial insights that will ensure Oscar's long-term sustainability, and work with internal departments and leaders to execute on these insights
  • Attract, develop, and retain key talent both within your direct and matrix reporting teams.
  • Form strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company to understand the impact of our partner relationships and contractual terms on their work streams and inform our network strategies
  • Contribute as a member of the Market P&L leadership team, advocating for the needs of your markets, providers, and members.
  • Expected Travel: 20-30%

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare industry experience, with a deep understanding of healthcare operations and market economics, and a background in a client-facing, leadership role. Other key components for success include:

  • 7+ years of work experience in the healthcare industry, in a provider-facing role
  • Proven track record managing complex negotiations and interpersonal skills needed to build relationships and communicate clearly at the executive level
  • Direct experience with a deep understanding of healthcare contracting, operations and market economics
  • Fluent in key operational, financial and strategic goals and challenges of health systems and providers
  • A strong analytical background and the ability to quickly digest and evaluate complex financial structures and operational workflows, with a keen eye for detail
  • Thrives in an environment where you are actively engaging and strategically conversing with executives, leaders, and subject matter experts in a variety of business, functional and technology areas

Pay Transparency:

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
