Position Summary

Lead a team of Sr. Analysts in the development, maintenance, analysis, and execution of labor and Ground Service Equipment models for Airport Operations, Line Maintenance, Cargo, and Dispatch. Work with Human Resources, Finance, supported Business Units, and Training & Development to ensure that hiring, budget, and staff planning processes are synchronized across the operation. Oversee and collaborate with business units on time and motion/process studies of Hawaiian’s ground operations, along with the implementation and management of budget-approved labor standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Sr. Analysts in the development, maintenance, analysis, and execution of labor and Ground Service Equipment models for Airport Operations, Line Maintenance, Cargo, and Dispatch
  • Work with Human Resources, Finance, supported Business Units, and Training & Development to ensure that hiring, budget, and staff planning processes are synchronized across the operation
  • Oversee and collaborate with business units on time and motion/process studies of Hawaiian’s ground operations, along with the implementation and management of budget-approved labor standards
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of staffing models based on flight schedules, historical data, passenger forecasts, and time & motion studies; forecast manpower and GSE requirements for budgeting and provide updates based on changes to flight schedules and work processes
  • Lead analysis and development of optimal shift bids for Airport Operations, in conjunction with divisional leadership, to effectively balance task coverage, labor cost, and Collective Bargaining Agreement rules
  • Monitor efficiency of ground operations workforce scheduling and work with the management teams to identify improvement opportunities and synthesize findings for Sr. Leadership
  • Manage administration of INFORM GroundStar Planning for Hawaiian and collaborate with Airport Operations leadership on effective execution of the labor plan in INFORM GroundStar RealTime, in addition to retrospective analysis in INFORM GroundStar Business Intelligence System
  • Lead, develop, and mentor departmental Sr. Analysts
  • Foster collaborative relationships with operational leadership, and translate complex analysis into succinct recommendations for optimal coverage of work associated with the flight schedule
  • Initiate process and technology improvement initiatives to streamline resource planning and reporting functions, including collaboration with business units, Information Technology, Finance, and Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee manpower what-if analyses to determine the operational and/or financial impact of changes to task processing, union rules, airport construction, safety requirements, new technology, outage and attrition trends, and passenger, bag, and cargo volumes

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business/related field or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
  • 5 years of management experience leading individual employees and multiple, diverse teams with a track record of growing leaders and independent thinkers
  • 5 years of experience in workforce/manpower planning, business planning, staffing/data analysis or related work
  • 3 years of direct experience utilizing resource planning optimization software in the airline industry (i.e. INFORM GroundStar Planning)
  • Demonstrated competence in project management; ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines and budget guidelines
  • Must be skillful and effective in oral and written communications and must be proficient in business processing with applicable PC skills in related software (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering presentations to a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated experience working with union environments and mapping CBA requirements with analytic outputs
  • Demonstrated ability and successful track record to manage, lead, and develop teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal relationship and customer-focused skills; ability to influence and lead without direct authority
  • Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow through skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or MBA
  • Experience utilizing the INFORM GroundStar suite, specifically INFORM GroundStar Planning or INFORM GroundStar Business Intelligence System
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization, database management, SQL, VBA, and/or Python
