Job Description:

What will you work on?

The Director of Brand Design role will be responsible for driving innovation in design across multiple brands and categories. This leadership role is responsible for managing internal teams and external vendors from initial design concepts to production. This position will reside in our LA office which is responsible for the following categories: Dolls, Interactive, Wheels and Action and Preschool

How will you create impact?

  • Blue sky development of new opportunities and white spaces
  • Based on strategic direction from Brand partners, work to develop mood boards, color pallets, iconography, type and logo development
  • Mentor and coach Brand Design teams
  • Evolve existing brands to market needs
  • Develop and deploy Brand Briefs
  • Work to manage Packaging Briefs on individual items
  • Create tight cross functional internal partnerships
  • Present ideas and concepts to executive team
  • Create Brand style guides
  • Develop marketing support materials, creative boards and layout presentations for new and existing business development presentations and trade shows.
  • Develop digital marketing assets where required.
  • Collaborate with Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control and Product Development teams as well as overseas agents, as necessary, in the package development and approval process.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies within your area of expertise


How will you fit into the team?

  • Heightened creative and technical abilities including conceptual drawing, and manual illustration a plus.

What are your skills and experience?

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years in the toy industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, ESKO and Acrobat.
  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, (BFA) or equivalent; or 4 or more years related experience and / or training.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $125,000 to $165,000 annually. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions
that work only in other states.
