Thomson Reuters is seeking a Pricing Director – Strategic Initiatives to join our team to develop and implement price optimisation strategies across the company. Reporting into the VP Pricing, the Pricing Director will support the creation of a Pricing Centre of Excellence (CoE) focused on developing high impact price management strategies and frameworks to drive business revenue and margin growth across the customer lifecycle, from acquisitions to renewals. As part of the Commercial Excellence organization, this director will develop the evolution of price management and execution methodologies to support TR’s growth strategy. The director will be responsible for developing the future pricing systems roadmap and requirements as well as leading the initiatives to optimise current price to order journeys. You will bring deep pricing expertise, and business judgement to pricing discussions. In addition, you will establish modern pricing models & best practices to support TR’s transformation to a digital company.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Pricing Director – Strategic Initiatives, you will:

  • Develop strategic pricing recommendations to develop frameworks and policies to establish best in class end to end price management.
  • Lead and develop the processes to simplify and standardise price & discounting tables enterprise wide and develop strategies to effectively manage & maintain these price tables.
  • Lead the research effort to optimise the price to quote journey through standardisation and automation and work across functions to improve usage of current systems.
  • Develop both the short-term roadmap and longer-term vision to maximise impact of current pricing systems and identify requirements for future enhancements to pricing system requirements.
  • Develop programs and initiatives to grow/defend margin and avoid margin leakage and implement programs to improve price execution and pricing controls.
  • Responsible for leading strategic pricing initiatives and serve as the pricing thought leader to develop pricing strategies and execute for high value impact.
  • Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of price changes and policies and implement continuous pricing optimisation plans.
  • Advocate global best practice pricing tools and practices. Develop and promote business cases for investment in pricing in Thomson Reuters

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Pricing Director – Strategic Initiatives if your background includes:

  • Experienced B2B pricing leader with 7+ years of pricing experience
  • Experienced in managing pricing decisions, enabling repeatable pricing strategies, optimising price execution, and defining price research and systems requirements.
  • Experienced in pricing operations.
  • Proven track record of leading pricing efforts in technology intensive industries with demonstrated expertise in pricing strategy formulations.
  • Able to identify and develop solutions to complex cross-functional challenges from a strategic and operational perspective.
  • Ability to influence various stakeholders, including senior management, by communicating clearly and persuasively.
