Director of Industry Solutions position is a key member of the Sales & Marketing organizational unit, responsible for providing vision and strategy to pursuits as it relates to the technical solutions to be delivered under the deal. The position leads a team of Solution Directors to develop and execute portfolio and architecture strategies and create messaging to customers. The incumbent in this position will follow the deal pursuits with the sales organization and bring together the technical solution with expertise from across the organization, including Product Management, Product Marketing, and design development teams from R&D. Its mission, to ensure successful delivery of solution design for customers, is achieved through collaboration, execution of the portfolio vision, and deep understanding of market need.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical experts to define the business and technical solution for new opportunities, ensuring high quality architectural design of solutions.
  • Develop strategy for and deliver “sales engineering” support on all sales pursuits, driving and managing the technology evaluation state of the sales process.
  • Provide updated solutions prioritizations aligned with Customer projects and market opportunities.
  • Develop portfolio application strategies leveraging marketing research and inputs from strategic accounts.
  • Provide approval input to Product Roadmaps and Investment Plans to ensure alignment of Portfolio Vision to Market Need.
  • Collect, interpret, and ensure that the inputs from product management, sales and customer projects are integrated with design documents and into the overall solution design specification.
  • Create and deliver ‘Solution Messaging’ to Sales, actively supporting sales with product vision and presentations.
  • Contributes to and enables corporate overall governance from a product and architecture perspective in partnership with Technologies team.
  • Develop and provide primary input from sales to the Technologies team to influence the overall product portfolio vision aligned to regional business goals.
  • Collaborate with Technologies team to understand, provide input, and stay informed about the short/medium/long term solutions and products roadmap.
  • Maintains a deep working knowledge of competitors’ products and services.
  • Presents at industry events and is one of the top evangelists in the company for presenting Landis+Gyr vision as well as thought leadership for the energy markets.
  • Adheres to Company’s core values, Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy, and represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working internally and externally.
  • Performs other related duties/responsibilities as assigned or required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field; Masters preferred. Minimum ten (15) years of relevant experience in Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, or general management in a related field.
  • Experience working within a utility company, including one with multiple services (water, gas, and electricity), is a plus.
  • Successful experience introducing new products within a utility’s operation is a plus.
